About the event

Are you someone who feels impacted by influencer culture?

Are you interested in how girls are being affected by influencer culture online?

Are you looking for ways to meaningfully engage with influencer culture?

Dr Robyn Muir and Dr Emily Setty are researchers at the University of Surrey and have spent the last year working with girls, young women and youth practitioners to explore the opportunities and challenges of influencer culture in the digital age. Together, they have created a toolkit resource that can be used by girls, young women, families, carers, educators and policy makers to explore and engage with influencer culture in a positive and beneficial way.

The event will feature Robyn and Emily introducing the toolkit, an influencer culture panel featuring Dr Frankie Rogan, Kirsty Ruthven from Lifting Limits, and Olivia Johnson from the Girls Friendly Society. They will be discussing their experience of navigating influencer culture. A Q&A session will follow. Finally, Leah Jewett of Outspoken Sex Ed and Emilie Cousins of Fumble will host a session with interactive activities from the toolkit for girls, young women, families, carers, educators.

Girls and young women who attend will receive a free gift!
